MAYFIELD, KY - Graves County Schools’ new chief information officer, in charge of district technology, is Michael Boyd. The Carlisle County native formerly worked in the district as a computer technician in 2007-08.

He previously earned an associate’s degree at Bowling Green Technical College and a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications systems management from Murray State University. During his absence from the school district, he was employed as an enterprise systems engineer at Computer Services Inc. of Paducah, managing between 50 and 60 clients’ servers.

“This is a job I’ve wanted for a long time because I love being in the school system,” Boyd said.”The people who I worked with here at Graves I’d made lifelong friends with them. When this position came up, I was really happy to have a chance and then to get it.”

Boyd and his wife of ten years, Lacy Richardson Boyd, have a 3-year-old son, Finn, and an 18-month-old daughter, Ellie.
