During the two and a half hour event, 104 students signed the “Commitment to Completion” banner and received complimentary wristbands to help remind them to stay motivated. The banner will soon be displayed on the campus as a testament to the successful progress BGTC students are making towards completion. In the future, similar signing events will be made available at other campuses, in an effort to involve all BGTC students.
ΦΘK extends membership invitations to students who maintain at least a 3.5 GPA. ΦΘK recognizes and encourages scholarship among two-year college students. The Honor Society provides them opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence. More than $37 Million in transfer scholarships are available to Phi Theta Kappa members, which are available at over 700 four-year colleges and universities.
The BGTC ΦΘK Chapter, which is the newest in Kentucky, was chartered on March 22, 2012. ΦΘK will be extending invitations to prospective members again during the Spring 2013 term.
