SKYCTC TO HOST FREE CAREER CRAZE SUMMER CAMPS FOR YOUNG ADULTS

Bowling Green, Ky. (June 13, 2014)— Middle and high school students across the state will have the opportunity to do more this summer than just play video games, watch TV or hang with their friends. Those who choose can attend Career Craze, hands-on camps offered through the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS).

Participants attending the Career Craze camps at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) this year will be exposed to cutting edge technology in 3-D graphics, innovative game design software. The camps are open to students who will be in the 7th, 8th, or 9th grades this school year.

SKYCTC will host two sessions of Career Craze for young adults:

3-D Gaming Camp at Franklin-Simpson Center
June 16, 2014- June 20,2014 - 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day
Location: SKYCTC Franklin-Simpson Center
175 Davis Drive in Franklin Kentucky

3-D Gaming Camp at KATI Campus
June 23, 2014- June 27,2014 - 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day
Location: SKYCTC KATI Campus
1127 Morgantown Road in Bowling Green


All 16 KCTCS colleges will host two camps during the summer. The camps will highlight different business/industry sectors such as utility, manufacturing, healthcare, etc. Students will learn more about each occupation and how it leads to high wage, high demand careers.

“Through KCTCS’ statewide, workforce partnerships, we are able to provide Career Craze participants the opportunity to experience interesting, unique and innovative careers first-hand that can jump-start their futures,” said KCTCS Chancellor Jay Box.
