Darius Burden of Florida decided to come to Bowling Green in 2010 with his cousin who played football for WKU and is now
with the Rams organization. He is pursuing an Associate Degree from SKYCTC with plans to transfer to WKU.

SKYCTC faculty and staff at each campus volunteered to welcome students back with water, snacks, directions, and other informational sheets as part of the college’s culture of caring. The activities were organized by the SKYCTC Lions’ Club.

Students gathered around campus to take a break, talk to old friends or grab a bite of lunch with some new friends.

All three had just met but planned to get through the year together.

When students were asked why they chose SKYCTC as their college of choice they said convenience. For some it was the convenience of being close to home and not having to pay rent or dorm fees. For others it was the convenience of not having to take out loans to pay for their college education.

Southcental Kentucky Community and Technical College is comprised of six campuses in Bowling Green, Glasgow, and Franklin and is part of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.
