SKYCTC HONORS VETERANS WITH CEREMONY AND SUPPORT

Froup of 15 veterans of the college  
SKYCTC faculty, staff and students who have served
our country in the military were honored at the Veterans
Day event.

Bowling Green, KY (November 11, 2014) – Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) held a ceremony on campus, Tuesday, November 11th , to honor Veterans and to announce the creation of new Student Veterans Alliance (SVA).

The SVA was recently recognized by the Student Government Association as a student club open to both veterans and non-veterans

The Student Veterans Alliance organization was formed to help returning soldiers not only with emotional support but also with advising them on how to best use their skills to find fitting classes and careers..

Ryan McKenzie and Nora Sheskey, SKYCTC Student veterans, spoke at the ceremony. 

McKenzie served in the US Army from 1996-1999 and then the National Guard for 1999-2002.   “I love my time serving my country and I would do it again,” said U.S. Army Veteran Ryan McKenzie That's something with the SVA we're organizing here, a big part of it is helping veterans get the help they need".

Sheskey, who served in the US Navy said, “all veterans are part of an unbroken chain that has served this country”.
